Vela Shop

Sales, orders and products in one panel — The panel shows turnover, orders, stock and best sellers in one system.

The brief

Albanian businesses do not avoid online shops because shops are hard to build. They avoid them because they cost money every month and someone has to feed them: adding products, fixing stock, answering where-is-my-order. Meanwhile the market is moving to card payment and ordering without a phone call. So the brief was not a cheaper shop. It was a shop that keeps itself up to date.

What we did

  1. The problem, before the product — A shop is not expensive to open. It is expensive to keep: products to add, stock to correct, the same question answered forty times a week.
  2. The mark is the agency mark, turned — The same boat as the studio mark, warmed to red. A family resemblance rather than a copy, so both can sit on one page.
  3. Instagram’s gradient, in a serious register — The gradient deliberately echoes Instagram’s, because that is where the seller and the customer are both coming from. Wine red instead of the pink keeps it a shop rather than a social app.
  4. No agency, no setup fee, no maintenance — The alternative is paying someone to set up Shopify or WordPress, paying them again to maintain it, then posting every product twice. Here: an account, log in with Instagram, posts turn into products automatically, a free month with no card, and a small subscription only if you like it.
  5. The panel answers one question first — It opens on money: revenue, orders, best sellers, in that order. A seller checks a shop the way a shopkeeper checks a till.
  6. The catalogue reads Instagram — This is the product. Posts become products automatically, with price, stock, categories and filters attached, so the catalogue keeps itself current as the seller keeps posting.
  7. The storefront is the actual deliverable — Card payment, a real cart, and ordering without a phone call. That is where the Albanian market is going, and a shop that cannot take an order that way is a catalogue.
  8. We answer. Shopify does not. — A platform that serves a million sellers builds what suits a million sellers. We serve a few hundred, so if something should work differently, you ask and we change it.
